My Journey to Holistic Wellness: From Trauma to Healing

I wasn’t always this healthy.

For many years, I lived in a body that felt unfamiliar - hurting, exhausted, inflamed. I was doing everything I could to feel better, but nothing seemed to work. My journey toward wellness has been anything but straightforward, but it has shaped who I am and how I help others today.

This is my story.

2008: A Life-Altering Trauma

In 2008, my life changed in an instant.
I survived a traumatic attack that left doctors unsure if I would survive. I did - but the road to recovery was long and painful.

For six months, I fought to regain my strength. I was constantly fatigued, and my body ached in ways that were hard to explain. The physical healing was grueling - but even when I started to look “better,” I didn’t feel better.

Years of Unanswered Questions

Over time, new symptoms appeared: brain fog, muscle aches, digestive discomfort. I knew something was wrong, but no one could give me a clear answer.

In 2013, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It gave my experience a name, but not a solution.

Despite trying treatments and making lifestyle changes, I wasn’t getting better. Deep down, I knew we hadn’t uncovered the root cause.

2019: A Turning Point in Germany

Everything shifted when I moved from the US to Germany in 2019.

There, I met a functional medicine doctor who truly listened. He took a comprehensive look at my symptoms, ran in-depth labs, and uncovered what had been missed for years: severe inflammation and undiagnosed food allergies.

Eliminating those trigger foods was like flipping a switch.

  • The fog lifted.

  • My energy returned.

  • My pain eased.

  • And for the first time in over a decade, I started to feel like myself again.

It was empowering - and it changed the entire trajectory of my life.

Healing Isn’t Just Physical

While my physical body was finally healing, I began to realize there were deeper wounds still unaddressed.

The trauma from 2008 left emotional scars that took longer to surface. Even as I got stronger physically, I noticed lingering anxiety, a constant state of alertness, and moments of emotional exhaustion that didn’t make sense.

Looking back, I now understand these were signs of unresolved PTSD.

While I’m not ready to share that part of my journey in full just yet, I will - because healing from trauma is as important as healing from inflammation. And sometimes, it’s even harder to talk about.

For now, I simply want to say:
✨ You can be healing and still hurting.
✨ You can carry invisible wounds and still move forward.
✨ And you are allowed to take your time.

Reclaiming My Health… and Purpose

Armed with my medical background as a former Air Force medic, and a lifelong passion for yoga, movement, and holistic wellness, I threw myself into learning everything I could about functional nutrition and whole-body healing.

I became a Certified Nutrition Coach (CNC) and a Certified Wellness Coach (CWC) because I knew I wanted to help others find the answers and relief I spent years searching for.

I realized that chronic inflammation was the thread that connected so many of the symptoms I - and my clients - struggled with. And when we reduce inflammation, we create the conditions for the body to heal.

Healing Through Movement & Mindfulness

Yoga and Pilates have been my anchors for over two decades.

Yoga offered me calm and presence when nothing else could. It taught me how to breathe again, both physically and emotionally.
Pilates, which I embraced from my background as a dancer, helped rebuild my strength, flexibility, and confidence.

These practices taught me to slow down, listen to my body, and trust in its ability to heal—tools I now share with my clients every day.

My Mission Today

Today, my mission is to help others heal chronic inflammation naturally.
To empower women - especially those over 45 - who are tired of not being heard, tired of guessing, and tired of feeling stuck in a body that doesn’t feel like home.

I believe that:

  • Chronic inflammation is at the root of many health challenges

  • Food, lifestyle, and mindset are powerful tools for healing

  • Support and education make all the difference

  • You deserve to feel well - truly well
